Inhalte: Diese LV soll einen Überblick über einige zentrale Themen und Probleme der gegenwärtigen "social ontology", Philosophie der Sozialwissenschaften und Wissenschaftsphilosophie vermitteln. Sprachen sind Deutsch und Englisch.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Lectures on the Philosophy of Science

Content: This course offers an overview over contemporary central issues in "social ontology", philosophy of the social sciences, and the philosophy of science. Languages of instruction are German and English.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment: two-page written summary of 8 of the 14 talks. One 12-15 page essay on one of the talks, drawing also on further literature that needs to be agreed with one of the course leaders.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Examination topics

Methods: attending lectures and discussion, independent study of texts that speakers send us ahead of time.
