Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Title: MA THESIS: LEAVE THE FRUSTRATION BEHIND!

Aims: This seminar is aimed specifically at students who are not advancing with their MA thesis. The aim is to help them complete their work.

Content: Has "MA thesis" become a word you dread? Are you stuck and can't find a way out? Lost interest in your topic? Have a writing block? Have you run out of time, energy, joy, or ideas? Would you like to just quit …. but so close to the end??!?!?

Welcome to the club! Before you give up completely, come and join us - a sorrow shared is a sorrow halved... And who knows, maybe together we can come up with something after all? It's worth a try, isn't it? Well, there you are. In the worst case, you'll have shared a sob with others in the same situation; in the best, you'll find a way out and finish the thesis.

Method: We’ll look together at the reasons why you are not advancing. We will look at what you have already done, what your goals are and why they don't seem achievable. Then we discuss what it would take to finish your Master's thesis. And finally, we'll think together about how it might still work out. Sharing ideas with others often leads to solutions that you can't find on your own, and sometimes there are opportunities for mutual support.

Our methods will range from open ears, defining the problems, discussions of thesis structures and content, planning, work schedules, short-term aims, all the way to cursing and swearing - anything that helps!
