Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar serves to develop concepts for Master's theses or to discuss sections of Master's theses already in preparation, to examine them in the mode of benevolent criticism and to discuss problems.
It also offers the opportunity to discuss questions and difficulties that arise in the run-up to or in the course of writing a Master's thesis. Fundamental reflection on practical questions of academic work and recapitulation of technical basics (including instruments for the correct use of texts by other authors, citation methods, etc.). All this in connection with (one of) the following subject area(s):
Ethics; Moral Philosophy; Political Philosophy; Philosophy of Law/Legal Theory; History of Philosophy; Aesthetics.

- Written elaboration of the presentation;
- Collaboration.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

An independent, reflective engagement with the special topic chosen for the seminar paper and the presentation should be recognizable. Otherwise, committed participation in discussions and independent engagement with texts discussed in the course will also be taken into account for the assessment. The following weightings are used for the grade: 40% presentation, 40% written work, 20% discussion/participation.
