Aims, contents and method of the course
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung (Engl.)The goal of this seminar is to expand and extend the subject didactics of philosophy and ethics by incorporating content and concepts from intercultural philosophy. In the first part of the course the question of intercultural identities, their structure, networking and needs as well as migration identities and power structures in multicultural learning groups, etc. will be discussed. Through a collectively developed perspective change, the view of others is made possible and the I is linked to the We. The educational goal of "understanding others" is thus guided by theory to practical application.
In the second part of the course major topics within philosophy are examined from a global point of view. For instance, the topic of aesthetics is linked to the question of the prohibition of images in Islam as well as to differing frameworks for aesthetics from East Asia. Likewise, political philosophy is observed from the point of view of developments in Neo-Marxism within Latin America and Japan respectively and further supplemented with a consideration of human rights from an Islamic point of view.
Finally, the third part of the course examines teaching methods and how important the connection between affectivity and knowledge can be for successfully mediating content. Students will discuss power relationships between agents; problems and conflicts will be identified through collective collaboration; and solutions will be then proposed.Introduction to the practical implementation of methods and texts of intercultural philosophizing for teaching philosophy.Reflection and analysis of teaching practice
