Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Through the case of early literacy curriculum, pedagogy, and policy, this course will explore the ways in which educators are positioned in relation to the central tenets of being a professional. The course will detail the scholarship on what educational professionals must ostensibly know, value, and be able to do and the preparation, professional learning opportunities, and curricular and policy conditions necessary to help them to achieve these ends. Topics will include the implications of the above for educators, children, and education work more generally.
