Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the study programme is to impart the ability to do independent scientific work and to analyse problems independently, as well as knowledge of the special features, limits, terminologies and doctrinal opinions of educational science.
We support you in acquiring the ability to independently produce a scientifically justified position on a doctrinal opinion in educational science with a text-analytical method in the seminar. The discussion of the special features and limits of educational science on the basis of selected texts contributes to this as much as the individual counselling and accompaniment of the production process.
The focus is on texts on the media education field of media education, in which, for example, digital humanism, identity formation, media power and media competence are addressed.

Assessment and permitted materials

In the seminar you will
- develop your own research project,
- work on tasks related to texts,
- analyse agreed or self-selected texts,
- write an essay with the results of your research project and
- prepare peer comments on an essay.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Prerequisites for the successful completion of the course are regular attendance (max. 2 missed appointments), the selection and analysis of texts, an introductory presentation on a selected text as well as the didactic design of the following seminar session, a written interpretation of the selected text and collegial commentary on the texts by colleagues. The presentation and interpretation should express a methodically developed understanding of the theory. The instructor reserves the right to discuss the submitted papers. In case of plagiarism the whole course is considered plagiarized.
