Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar focuses on transcultural aspects in the context of inclusion and education. In response to current developments, crises in the context of educational provision will be at the core of the seminar. In accordance with students' interest, topics such as emergency education in war-affected countries, educational provision in border areas and implications of austerity measures in the context of inclusive education will be explored.
The course aims at making students aware of the need for intercultural sensitivity.
Guest lecturer from Thailand and probably others, group work, guided reading, and individual tutoring regarding written resume.

Das Seminar setzt sich mit unterschiedlichen Beispielen transkultureller Arbeit im Kontext von Inklusion auseinander. So werden aus aktuellem Anlass vor allem krisenbedingte Faktoren, die Bildung im gloabelen Kontext beeinflussen exploriert.
Studierenden soll die Wichtigkeit interkultureller Sensibilität in der Profession näher gebracht werden.
Gastvortragende, Gruppenarbeiten, Einsatz von moodle, gemeinsames Literaturstudium und individuelle Beratung zur Abschlussarbeit.

Assessment and permitted materials

Kontinuierliche Anwesenheit, aktive Mitarbeit in Form schriftlicher Zwischenleistungen, schriftliche Abschlussarbeit
Assessment: Continuous attendance, active participation by handing in written inter-assessments, written resume.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Mindestanforderungen: Grundkenntnisse in Englisch, um Teile der Basisliteratur zu verstehen.
Basics in English in order to be able to read basic literature.

Examination topics

Selbständiges Literaturstudium und Verschriftlichung der eigenen Reflexion, gemeinsame Diskussion dieser. Erarbeitung von Themen für die gemeinsame Auseinandersetzung, sowie individuelle schriftliche Abschlussarbeit.
Methods: Self-study of literature und write up of own refection, common reflection of findings. Identification of topics for common discourse and individual written resume
