Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Grading system: 5 reports per group (written in English, 800 words per report, bibliographical references excluded).
Each student is the main responsible for 1 report (20% of overall grade) but also helps with the other 4 reports (10% of overall grade per report) = in total 60% of overall grade determined by the 5 reports. One oral presentation per group counting 15%; writing peer-feedback on another group’s reports counting 5%; individual participation in class and online counting 20%.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Good language skills in English and German. Attendance (on site or online) is compulsory; students may be absent for no more than two lectures.
Examination topics
To guarantee the teachers’ expertise in researched topics and to constrain the vastness of scientific literature, this year’s course focuses on the following topics: hypnosis and empathy.

Introductory literature on hypnosis: Oakley DA, Halligan PW. Hypnotic suggestion: opportunities for cognitive neuroscience. Nat Rev Neurosci 2013;14:564-76.

The steps:

Program: The students will be taught the steps 1 to 6. Six groups of 4 students each are to be created. Each group will be requested to produce a report for each step from 1 to 4 and will be evaluated on this basis. The course will be taught in German.
