Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This is a continuation of the Fachliteraturseminar in Environmental Psychology (FLS) led by Sabine Pahl and only available for those students who have successfully completed the FLS. You will be enrolled automatically.
The aim of this seminar is to complete the Bachelor's thesis in Environmental Psychology that students have developed last semester. The seminar will take place face-to-face; only a few selected sessions may be online (instructions will be posted on moodle). The content of the seminar is focused on finalising the studies developed at the start of term. We will then focus on data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and how limitations in research can be the gateway to future studies. The format will consist of group work, presentations, discussions and written work, to maximise interactivity and feedback so that you can receive maximum feedback (from peers and lecturers).
This course is designed to lead to the successful completion of the Bachelor's project, therefore the main elements of assessment are a presentation of results and the written Bachelor’s thesis, combined with active participation in class.

Assessment and permitted materials

This course is designed to lead to the successful completion of your Bachelor's thesis, therefore the main elements of assessment are a presentation and a written essay, combined with active participation in class (this will hopefully be facilitated by zoom, e.g., exercises and breakout rooms etc. to help group discussions). The essay can contribute to the Method & Results of your Bachelor's thesis.
Elements of assessment:
1) Presentation about a selected empirical article (dates flexible and to be confirmed)
2) Essay summarising a field of research leading to a research question
3) Participation in class
4) Submission of a minimum of 3 out of 5 small tasks

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

A pass (genügend) is the minimum requirement for progression. Active participation in the meetings is required.
