Aims, contents and method of the course
Creativity at the Workplace - This course aims to provide a discussion platform on the antecedents of individual and organizational creativity including measurement, models, characteristics of the individual and the environment that facilitate creativity.
Assessment and permitted materials
Students will be assessed according to components of reading(40%), discussion(25%) and a project(35%).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Reading (40%) - For each class, students will be responsible to read articles from the provided reading list, you may also select an article of your choice. Students will take turns to summarize the contents through: a 1-page summary posted on Moodle and a presentation to the class.Project (35%) - Students will be able to choose 1 project from a number of options listed below that is to be completed before the last class of the semester.
1. Podcast on a topic of creativity (min. 15 minutes)
2. Essay (min. 1000 words)
3. Video (min. 15 minutes) - a research-intensive summary on a topic of creativity in an engaging format
4. Presentation (min. 15 minutes)
5. Book review (min. 1000 words) - you may choose any book relating to creativity and critique it based on public opinion vs. scientific researchDiscussion (25%) - For each class, students will be responsible to prepare 3-4 discussion questions based on the reading they have done. Discussion questions should show analytical thinking and comprehension of content. Questions are to be posted on Moodle one day prior to the class. Both quality of questions and overall class discussion will contribute to the grade.
