Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
What role does the EU level play in the socio-ecological transformation of the transport sector? Who is involved in this process? What shapes the process and which interests are reflected in it?In the course of the seminar, we will gain an overview of the policy field of (sustainable) transport at the international level, namely the level of the EU: the issues that play a role, the actors involved and the different forums in which the topic is negotiated. The approach of Historical Materialist Policy Analysis (HMPA) will be used to analyse this international policy field. In small groups you will independently prepare and conduct the analysis of a sub-area of the policy field under guidance.Due to group size and corona requirements, the seminar will take place online, supplemented by face-to-face meetings with parts of the course as far as the corona situation allows. While the online meetings will serve to familiarise with the basics of the topic and the research approach, the face-to-face meetings will focus on discussing the progress of the small group work and challenges in the research process. More information on corona measures will be announced in the first unit which will take place online via moodle.
