Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The content and objectives of the seminar are designed to ensure that by the end of this course, to analyse selected aspects of the Covid 19 pandemic, students
- are familiar with the challenges of and ways of dealing with global crises,
- are able to describe (uneven) development embedded in global dynamics,
- and are able to explore crisis experiences and current coping strategies in different regions of the world.
This can be about climate, environmental and resource issues as well as other questions regarding (global) resource distribution in health or other areas. Global, national and local actors can equally play a role in the analysis.

The course is designed as a seminar. The teaching units start with an introduction by the course instructor followed by an interactive exchange about the contents. Each participant also briefly presents his/her research project and receives feedback from a colleague and the course instructor. Afterwards, a final paper is written with the support of a buddy. Regular and active participation of the students in the course is required. A positive completion of the course is only possible after participation in all units (exceptions will be explained in the first unit).
