The research seminar addresses political portraits and their use in contemporary and historical perspective.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Das Forschungspraktikum soll Studierenden helfen, ein eigenes Forschungsprojekt im Bereich der Ostmittel-Europa-Forschung, mit Schwerpunkt Ungarn zu entwickeln. Dafür werden im Seminar theoretische Rahmen diskutiert, methodologische Ansätze erörtert, und neue Forschungsergebnisse vermittelt. Plan und Aufbau der einzelnen studentischen Beiträge sollen im Seminar ebenfalls diskutiert und getestet werden.
Examination topics
Theoretical and methodological introduction to the development of a research project. Discussion of relevant terminology and basic texts; independent research (in small groups according to chosen theme), under supervision of the course instructor; presentation and discussion of research plans and findings.
