Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
What can be defined as the political? Political Science is about conceptualizing notions of the political, e.g. are power and domination constitutive moments of the political or is it all about democracy, participation and the collective?Therefore the course will focus on a critical view theorizing oppositional debates of the political.
Assessment and permitted materials
Further results have to be produced to conclude the course:• doing research and presentations (individual and teamwork)• several written exercises• participating in discussions• written paper in German or English (about 7 pages)• attendance (at least 10 of 12 times)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Course BA5/e1 is an addition to the introducing lecture of political theory, where central topics will be presented. In the course selected contributions will be analysed, aiming at argumentation, thesis, context and notions.
Examination topics
Textanalysis, discussions, presentations, written exercises and final paper.
