Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Active participation on the basis of the readings (10%).
Short inputs with 3-5 slides (10-12 Min.) on one of the readings in groups of two or three, plus one handout (1p.) (20%).
Two essays (1,500 - 2,000 words each) due 15.5. respectively 30.6. For the essays, you will be asked to respond to a specific question through applying some of the approaches and concepts in the readings to a particular political issue or event. The questions will be announced on 17.3. respectively 19.5. (20% each).
A written exam (30 Min.) on the course contents on 30.6.2015 (30%).
You will upload all written assignments (handout, essays) on moodle in due course.

Examination topics
The course will focus on the readings. We will use a mix of short presentations, group work and plenary discussions.
Reading list
The Course Pack (Reader Lektürekurs BA7: Vergleichende Analyse von Politik, Basistexte) is mandatory for all participants. It is available at the facultas bookshop . We will work intensively with the text included here. Additional readings will be uploaded on moodle.
