Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this seminar, the students should learn how to plan and carry out empirical research. The students will work on their research projects in groups. Each project will focus on the topic of AI influencers and their impact on various outcomes (e.g., well-being, health, and persuasive outcomes) using qualitative in-depth interviews or experimental studies. At the beginning of the class, the students will look for a pressing gap in the literature, based on which they will formulate specific research questions and hypothesses. Afterwards, they will further define their main constructs, develop and test their research instruments (e.g., topic list for interviews, stimuli materials and questions for experimental research), and how to implement this in appropriate software for data collection. In the second part of the course, they will learn how to analyze and interpret the data, and write a scientific research paper. The students will thus familiarize themselves with each step in the research process, with close supervision of the lecturers.
