Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture aims to give an introduction into the basic issues and concepts of sociological thinking and research. It attemps to show, what constitutes the "sociological gaze" on social phenomena and how the discipline differs from other humanities. Therefor, fundamental theoretical and methodological concepts will be discussed and the elemantary fileds of reference, in which sociological knowledge is applied today, are put forward.
