Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Sociologists working for the public adminstration often do not do research themselves but prepare tenders for research instituts. Preparing a tender requires additional skills, mainly in project-management, procurement law and cost-calculation. These skills are taught and practically trained in the seminar.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students gain Information during the Seminar and the excursion, they develop a Concept-paper with a project-structure-plan and cost-calculations.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

creation of a concept-paper (Group-work) (40%)
creation of meeting-minutes (10 %)
Essay on experiences made (500 words, individual work) 30%
attendance and collaboration (20%)

Examination topics

Input given during Seminar and excursion. The individual Essay can also focus on ethical aspects of contract Research.
