Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Housing is today something more than housing. It supports social relations and practices, contributes to the structure the neighborhoods, and depends on national policies but also from a large range of diversified actors. Object of desire and speculation, from private (intimacy, family life, sociability, identity) to public (markets, urban fabric, welfare policy, immigration) the realm of housing is expending in a globalizing world. This course will be organized around the following three crucial issues:
1. the social meaning of Habitat;
2. Housing: norms, forms and experiences;
3. Housing between market and policy
The course comprises Lectures and Research field. During the Lectures, a selection of papers will be discussed.
