Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar is designed to accompany master's theses. During the seminar, you will present your planned master's thesis. You will receive constructive feedback from the other participants and the course instructor (collegial exchange in the seminar and written reviews). Questions regarding the research designs, methods of analysis, and results will be discussed. Students will receive methodological advice in the area of QUANTITATIVE empirical social research from the course instructor.
Assessment and permitted materials
Each participant presents their own research project at least once per semester (oral presentation with PowerPoint) and provides feedback on the projects of the other participants. The discussion and feedback are intended to help the presenter refine their own project. At the end of the semester, you document or reflect on the progress that has been made on your own work.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
- Presentation of the planned master's thesis with PowerPoint (25%)
- Active contributions to discussions (25%)
- Writing reviews (25%)
- Written documentation of work progress (25%)
- Attendance in all sessions (mandatory, a single absence will be tolerated)All partial performances must be completed on time in order to successfully complete the seminar.
