The final grade is based on all the following tasks:
- Active participation (10%)
- Presentation of about 20 minutes on a research topic of interest (30%)
- Writing assignment I (30%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To pass the course, students have to perform in all tasks (with a score of 4 at least), otherwise the course is considered failed. Attendance at the sessions is expected, if a student misses more than one session, the course is considered failed.

At the beginning of the course the students are requested to choose a research question/topic they would like to read and write about for the rest of the course. It is compulsory to come to the first class with a research topic in mind.
The main topics addressed during the course will be: critical reading, paraphrasing, structural features of English research papers, tips to write an abstract, literature review section of a scientific manuscript. The course is strongly interactive, and active participation of students is expected.The course will be in digital format (platform Zoom and Moodle). The language of the course is English.
