Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Recent technological inventions have had tremendous impact on the political economy worldwide. This seminar tracks these current transformations and provides insights into anthropological literatures on consumption, production, globalization, and neo-liberalism. Whilst debating pressing issues in economic and political anthropology, we will develop theoretical, analytical and methodological tools for reconfiguring central anthropological concepts such as power, "the political", and change.
Assessment and permitted materials
