Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Examination immanent course: Obligatory presentation of the respective own topic during the course, participation in the discussions during the zoom meetings.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Discussion that follows each short presentation. Own short presentation of the topic to be worked on. Presentation and collaboration - and thus participation in the zoom meetings - form the basis for a positive grade.

Reading list
Scientific literature will be discussed on a case-by-case basis and appropriate further information will be provided.

The course takes place in discussion mode, i.e. no frontal lecture by the course leader, but input from all participants. Among other things, the following will be dealt with Research question, structure of a scientific paper, methods, contextual, theoretical embedding, questions about citation and the creation of a bibliography, logic, conclusiveness of content, chronology, source criticism and context of exploitation. ATTENTION: Participation in the Anthropological Laboratory does not serve to assign topics or to find them first. All participants must already be in the writing stage or at least in the stage of content-related preliminary surveys in order to provide appropriate input.
This course is designed to give Master students the opportunity to discuss and reflect on aspects of the MA thesis with the course director, but also with each other, and to critically discuss individual points of the structure, the inner structure, formal criteria, and areas of content. The goal is to offer support to the writers, to eliminate ambiguities and to encourage them to complete the work successfully. Due to Corona, this is done via zoom meetings, in which all participants have to be present.
