Aims, contents and method of the course

A selection of concepts, methods and techniques on the following topics:

(neural networks, support vector machines, reproducing kernels)
Stochastic gradient algorithm (properties, convergence analysis)
AI for classification (pattern recognition)
AI for regression (predicting numerical data)
AI for games (reinforcement learning)

Assessment and permitted materials

Exams are oral after the end of the semester, approx. 45 minutes, by
personal arrangement. Please send me an email at least one week before
the intended exam date; for exams during the semester breaks earlier.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Prerequisite: Good knowledge of linear algebra and its numerical analysis

Examination topics

Relevant for the exam is what is covered in the lectures.

I'll create during the course lecture notes that will cover a large part of what is discussed.
