ATTENTION! If you want to take part in this course, you have to register for it from September 4 to September 18 in U:SPACE! Should there be more applicants than available places, non-accepted students will be put on a ordered waiting list. If an accepted student does not appear at the preparatory meeting, he/she will be deleted from the list of participants, and the free spaces will be given to the attending students from the waiting list, so it is important that you come to the preparatory meeting on time (Tuesday October 4, 2016, 08:00 hours, PC-Seminar room 3, Oskar-Morgenstern-Platz 1, 1st subbasement [floor -1])!

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Content: In this course students should try out different possibilities of using ICT in teaching mathematics. Several topics are provided, the students should prepare teaching units with the given topic, using ICT in an interactive way (i.e. also the pupils are expected to work with ICT). The presenting students are going to have the role of the teachers, while the other students are the "school class". A suitable teaching method has to be chosen by the students.

Aims: Learning about and trying out several ICT products in a teaching situation, acquiring competences to choose suitable teaching methods ahnd technical resources to given topics.

Methods: group work, presentation, discussion

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment is based on the presentation, the uploaded written version of the teaching preparations, and the regular active participation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements for a positive assessment:
*) Presenting a 100-minute teaching unit in groups
*) Uploading a written version of teaching preparations in Moodle
*) Regular active participation

Assessment criteria:
*) presentation of teaching unit (65 %)
*) written version of the teaching preparations (15 %)
*) regular participation in discussions (20 %)

Examination topics

Preparation and presentation of teaching unit by students; discussion, reflection and feedback about content and performance of the teaching unit.
