Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

If audience prefers the course can also be given in English, or at least partially in English (as the whole work-group is having international guests who prefer courses in English).

Mathematical foundations for image and signal processing, both in the discrete and continuous domain (with a discussion of discretization problems, approximation of infinite dimensional questions by finite dimensional problems which can be handled within MATLAB). With special emphasis on algorithmic questions.

Assessment and permitted materials

producing a small collection of MATLAB (or alternative Software)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The participants are supposed to learn about the realization of algorithms for signal- and image processing (e.g. FFT), in their realization using MATLAB.

Examination topics

Foundations of MATLAB with emphasis on signal processing applications, both to audio signals and digital images.
