Aims, contents and method of the course

Exercises related to the course "Linear algebra and geometry 1", during the first weeks, exercises concern topics from the course "Introduction to linear algebra and geometry" from last semester.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presenation of solutions to exercises and active participation in the discussion of the presentations of other students. In addition, there will be two or three short written tests during the course, whose results will influence the marks.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students gain increased knowledge on the topics of the courses and confidence in using them. This is achieved by solving exercises and finding simple proofs, and by discussing the solutions of other students.

Examination topics

The students prepare exercises, which will be made available in time, outside of the course. During the course, each student ticks the solved exercises in a list, and solutions are presented by students. The discusson of the solutions both by the instructor and the students is an important part of the course.

Reading list

Exercises are available online at http://www.mat.univie.ac.at/~cap/lectnotes.html .

Aims, contents and method of the course

Exercises connected to the course "Linear Algebra and Geometry I"

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
