Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course focuses on topics in finite elements methods for the approximation of partial differential equations. The main part of the course will be dedicated to to finite element methods for the heat equation and the wave equation, and to a posteriori error analysis. Further topics may depend on students interests and may include specific applications or introduction to some non standard finite element methods, such as discontinuous Galerkin methods or virtual element methods.
