Introduction into the mathematical modeling in population genetics, covering both deterministic and stochastic approaches:
1. Selection and mutation at a single locus
2. Recombination
3. Genetic drift
4. Neutral theory
5. The coalescent
6. Effective population size
7. Demography: population growth and decline
8. Selection and drift
9. Diffusion models

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral exam including 10 min oral presentation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Sufficient understanding of all topics of the lecture and being able to present them in an oral exam.
