Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Wiener's Lemma is a classical and seemingly innocent result about absolutely convergent Fourier series. It is central in the development of the abstract theory of Banach algebras and keep inspiring new research. This course will give an introduction to Wiener's Lemma.Topics: Absolutely convergent Fourier series and Wiener's Lemma, convolution operators and their spectrum, off-diagonal decay of matrices and their inverses, weight functions, Wiener's Lemma and time-frequency shifts; some Banach algebra concepts.
