Aims, contents and method of the course

Aim: well-founded examination of subject didactic texts, consequences drawn from this should be incorporated into the respective lessons.

Contents: the book "Grundkurs Mathematikdidaktik" by Hans-Dieter Sill will be the basis of the seminar, published in 2019 by Verlag Ferdinand Schöningh, Paderborn.

3 Tasks in math lessons
4 Motivation and goal orientation
5 Acquiring mathematical concepts
6 Acquiring mathematical contexts
7 Training skills
8 Design of exercise processes
9 Solving word problems in mathematics
10 Problem solving of formal determination tasks
11 Arguing, Giving Reasons and Proving
12 Development of knowledge and ability in working with numbers and quantities
13 Development of knowledge and ability in working with variables, equations and inequalities
14 Development of knowledge and ability in working with functions
15 Development of geometric knowledge and ability
16 Development of stochastic knowledge and ability
17 Notes on planning and designing lessons
Of course, other sources of literature will be used for the individual topics.

Method: Preparation of individual sections also under the guidance of the teacher, presentation in plenary, discussion and reflection on specific topics in groups and in plenary.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral: Assessment of the seminar lectures and the contributions to the discussions in the seminar sessions.

Presentation documents, subject didactic texts.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presentation: Content and Performance; Collaboration (including attendance).

The lecture mainly determines the assessment. If the result is not clear, the participation will be used in the discussions of the presentations of other participants.

Compulsory attendance.

Examination topics

Derives from the selected presentation topics.
