Examination topics

Help participants to get a full overview over the areas of time-frequency analysis and abstract harmonic analysis, but also operator theory and distribution theory, as needed for the preparation of their PhD thesis or project work. Alternatively new students joining the area (e.g. with interest in "mathematical methods in signal processing'') are encouraged to joint the course and receive a summary/introduction to the field.

Reading list

will be given at the course home-page. Above all K.Groechenig's book: Foundations of time-frequency analysis (2001) will be a main reference, as well as material for a forthcoming book on an "Elementary Theory of Generalized Functions'' ("Keine Angst
vor Distributionen") by the lecturer (to the extent available the material will be made accessible to the audience via internet).
