Aims, contents and method of the course

Functions make up a central thread throughout school mathematics. This lecture gives a survey on topics concerning functions from grade 5 to 12. The scope reaches from historical considerations via didactical background informations and reports on empirical investigations to a wide range of proposals for teaching.
