Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture is designed to give a naturally limited
survey about recent topics and (controversial) issues in mathematics education. Subjects like "Bildungsstandards", semiotics, once more PISA, mathematics and general education, the combination of three basic concepts of mathematics teaching, "fundamental ideas" -- "basic ideas" -- "subjective experience areas" concerning stochastics for instance, new developments in writing lecture books and the evergreens "Problem-Solving" and "Explain and
reason" in mathematics education will be discussed. Beside a well-founded theoretical introduction in these fields also school
practical aspects of them will be analyzed in order to treat the questions of realization and potential consequences for mathematics education.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
