Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

After dealing with classical symmetric cryptosystems we are going to speak about more modern asymmetric systems. Large prime numbers play the crucial role in these cryptosystems. We will learn methods how to find large prime numbers and how large numbers can be factorised.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

It is intended to familiarize the students with modern methods of cryptography and to endow them with the basic knowledge in this field.

Examination topics

Most of the methods used in this field are essetially taken from number theory.
