Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is specifically oriented and recommended to students participating in the Initiative Colleg Time-Frequency-Analysis and Microlocal Analysis. Good background in functional analysis is assumed or should be obtained parallel to the course attendance.

The course will cover material on Banach spaces of functions and distributions, various concepts of smoothness for functions on Euclidean spaces, compactness in such function spaces, convolution and the (generalized) Fourier transform, product-convolution operators and localization operators (in the sense of time-frequency analysis or resp. wavelet theory), Banach Gelfand triples, operators and their representations (Kohn-Nirenberg or spreading functions), and more.
A rich collection of reading material will be provided in the form of Internet-Links (within the NuHAG web-page) as well as English notes prepared by HGFei, at least covering those parts of the material which is not found easily in the published or accessible literature will be provided.
