Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The central goal of this course is to deepen the understanding of the concepts and material of the VO Advanced Quantum Mechanics. This will be achieved by weekly assignments that shall be solved individually and that will be discussed in class.

Assessment and permitted materials

The course will be assessed via two take-home exercises (one in November and the other one in December/January). The students can work on the take-home problems for approximately one week, after which each student has to hand in his/her written solution. Additionally, every student must present at least one exercise problem in class.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Successful passing of the course requires obtaining at least 50% of the total points that can be earned on the two take-home problems together and presenting at least one exercise problem in class. Both take-home exercises contribute equally to the total number of points. The grade will be given on basis of the take-home exams only.

Examination topics

The required material for the take-home exercises will be the material covered in the VO Advanced Quantum Mechanics, as well as the exercises treated in the PUE Advanced Quantum Mechanics.

Reading list

Literature will be announced in the VO Advanced Quantum Mechanics and on moodle.
