Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture will introduce modern methods of Quantum Field Theory and theoretical Particle Physics. It will focus on the path integral formalism, regularization and theory of renormalization, the renormalization group and effective field theories. At the end the quantization of gauge theories will be discussed. The lecture can also be attented in parallel to the lecture 'Advanced Particle Physics'.

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation and regular presentations in the exercise part of the VU, a final project will be put as a take-home exam at the end of the lecture.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
