The lecture is a practical course encompassing two semester hours per week, meant for students from the 5th term on.
The students should learn to use scientific skills that faciliate the work of a physicist, not sufficiently taught in other lectures. Skills like Information management, data acquisition, data processing and data presentation, communication and giving a talk. Several information sources are presented and their use is trained. Different articles are read, focusing on acquisition of the key information in the articles. By giving a talk, the participants get used to report, to discuss and to ask questions. Further tutorials treat the collection of measurement data and some evaluation techniques as well as modern communication possibilities.
Each trainee has to fulfill several tasks, training his skills on the job.
