Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The central goal of this course is to deepen your knowledge of quantum mechanics. Topics covered are the postulates of quantum mechanics, unitary and anti-unitary symmetries, central potentials, scattering theory, time dependent and independent perturbation theory, second quantization and Hartree Fock theory.The lectures will be held weekly, and exercises will start during the second week.
Assessment and permitted materials
Update regarding changes due to Covid-19 (29-04-2020):This exam will take place digitally. The exam will be made available for download in pdf-format on Moodle at 14:00 on 29-05-2020 and the solutions have to be uploaded on Moodle, at 18:00 on 29-05-2020 the latest. It suffices to upload a picture of a handwritten copy, as long as it is clearly legible.The exam will consist of 4 questions, covering a mix of theory and more exercise-styled questions. Solving 3 questions perfectly suffices to get a maximum score.The exam is open book, so use of course notes and handbooks is allowed.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The exam is graded on 20 points in total. The marks are distributed according to the following key:< 10: 5
>= 10 and < 12: 4
