Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar will be based on an article by Buchert and Cafora, starting from the ideas of Ellis, how to take into account the non-linear back reaction of averaging the Einstein equation. Recent work by Wiltshire suggests that these effects might account for the "observed" accelerated expansion of the universe.
Assessment and permitted materials
Work in class
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To confront students with modern developments and open problems related gravitational physics in order to prepare them for scientific research.
