Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture is part of the Bachelor studies and is directly aimed at students who visited the T2 lecture Quantum Mechanics in the SS 2019 and who want to intensify their knowledge in quantum theory.

Fermions and bosons, path integral quantization, electromagnetic interaction in quantum theory, systems of many particles and quantum field theory, basics of relativistic quantum field theory, rotation group, Lorentz group, Poincare group, Dirac equation, basics of quantum electrodynamics, perturbation theory, scattering theory, quantum information.

Assessment and permitted materials

The tasks for the written exam will be uploaded on the Moodle page of the Modulprüfung at the time the exam starts. Students will have 3 hours to solve it, scan it and upload their solutions back onto Moodle. During the exam, Prof. Hoang or Dr. Plätzer will be reachable via Skype in case students have questions and need clarifications.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

In order to pass, students will have to score at least 1/3 of the available points. Grades will be assigned proportionally to the scored points.

Examination topics

The program consists of all topics covered in the lecture notes and in the exercise classes. You will be allowed to consult lecture notes and solutions to the exercises during the exam.
