Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The aim of the seminar will be to provide an introduction to selected geometric models occurring in physics. We will discuss Yang-Mills fields and harmonic maps, including solitons and vortices. According to the interests of the participants, possible further topics might include Chern-Simons theories, and/or skyrmions.
Assessment and permitted materials
The course has immanent examination character.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Becoming acquainted with special topics in gravitational physics.
Examination topics
Participants give seminar talks.
