Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aim: To achieve the ability to solve group theoretical problems related to particle physics.
Training of scientific discussion and presentation.

Content: Symmetries in classical mechanics and field theory, Noether theorem, Lie groups and Lie algebras, space-time symmetries, representation theory of rotation- Lorentz- and Pioncare group.

Method: Solving homework problems and blackboard presentation of solutions in class. Scientific discussion.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presence in class is compulsory (two missed classes will be accepted), continuous activity (presentation at blackboard and participation in discussions), sufficient number of correctly solved homework problems (absolute minimum: 50 %).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Solving at least 50% of the homework exercises, three presentations at blackboard.
