Aims, contents and method of the course
Using school equipment, basic experiments in regard to current curricula are planned, performed and reflected on their didactic contents which demonstrate the core principles of mechanics, optics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, atomic, and nuclear physics. Participants have to give one seminar lectures with experimental demonstration and to plan and perform one microteaching based on the assignments elaborated in the course. Reflection on the performance with respect to didactical aspects based on the videotaped documentation and the feedback of the colleagues and the advisors. Elaboration of a situated learning environment with special reference to experiments.

Documentation of planning, elaboration and reflection of experiments with regard to didacitc aspects, experimental lecture, microteaching, final oral exam
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Knowledge of key concepts of physics and their experimental perspectives with regard to current school curricula. Experienced and safe handling of devices that are used in school experiments. Elaboration of didactic aspects for using experiments in learning environments in regard to current Austrian physics curricula. Training of professional skills for presenting experiments safely and confidently. Elaboration of suggestions for students’ hands- on- experiments. Selecting of suitable experiments in regard to the intended learning objectives and skills and performing them in a microteaching – setting.
