Aims, contents and method of the course

In the series of lectures Scientific challenges for hydrogen based energy the following problems will be discussed:
- Motivation for a search for the alternative energy carriers and advantages of hydrogen
- Basic properties of hydrogen
- Experimental and theoretical methods to study and describe hydrogen in solid compounds
- Methods of hydrogen production
- Methods of hydrogen storage
- Methods of conversion of hydrogen into usable energy.
All problems still require input from the fundamental science that will be stressed in presentations.
