Examination topics
In this lecture, the basic principles of quantum physics which are necessary
for quantum information will be explained: superposition, quantum states,
entanglement and the role of the measurement. Subsequently qubits and the
distinction between qubits and classical bits will be introduced, and we
will have a closer look at the fundamental implications and applications of
the information concept within quantum physics. The following experiments
will be discussed: quantum dense coding, quantum communication complexity,
interaction-free measurement, quantum cryptography, quantum teleportation
and several realizations of quantum gates, quantum algorithms and quantum
computer architectures.
