Aims, contents and method of the course

After short repetition of basics concerning physiology, resorption and xenobiotic metabolism (Food Toxicology I, WS), the lecture will comprise
- Mycotoxins in Food
- Bacterial toxins
- Phycotoxins
- goitrogenic compounds in food
- biogenic amins
- problematic issues with food supplements
- red rice
-pyrrolizidin alkaloids
- hazard characterisation of chemical mixtures
Lecture with powerpoint slides, discussion
If feasible, the lecture will be recorded and made available on the moodle platform

Assessment and permitted materials

Performance assessment will be done online by oral examination (30 min) via BigBlueButton. A computer with camera and micro will be needed

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Correct answers to 60% of the questions
