Contents: The class will touch on methodological and theoretical aspects of protein chemistry. A brief overview over protein expression and purification will provide an introduction to the field. The first part will address topics like mass spectroscopy and proteomics, followed by aspect sof sequence analysis and annotation, analytics of glycoproteins and the determination of the 3D structure. The theoretical chapters will deal with post translational modifications, protein stability and dynamics, followed by chapters on protein folding and aspects of functionality.
