Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to prepare the students for the school practice and the appropriate accompanying seminar. In the course, the students learn about the current curricula for chemistry and natural sciences in the various school levels and types of schools. The corresponding competence models will be addressed. On the basis of important concepts of chemistry teaching, preconceptions as well as their exploration and treatment are discussed. Various media for chemistry teaching are analyzed and presented.

* Analysis of specialized literature
* Presentations of the students followed by discussion
* Analysis and presentation of various media for classroom teachimg

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment of the course consists of the following elements:
* Presentation of student concepts on various topics including the preparation of a handout
* Analysis of chemistry/science curricula
* Presentation of teaching media including the preparation of a handout

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

* Continuous presence (maximum one unit may be missed) and active involvement
* Provision of all above-mentioned tasks

Note: If any task of the course is obtained by fraud (copying, use of unauthorized tools, "plagiarizing" etc.), the whole course will not be assessed.
